Management and Operations Committee meets with
Premier Stelmach

The Association’s Management and Operations Committee met with Premier Ed Stelmach on Friday, September 28, 2007.
Among the items discussed:

• A Local Government Charter as part of the Constitution of Alberta
• Recognition, in the Lobbyists Act, of the role of school boards
• The right of individual members of the minority faith, where a separate school district exists, to be supporters of public schools
• The appointment and role of the school superintendent
• The amalgamation of public school districts
• Encouraging more Indian and Metis people to become teachers
