A new path we walk together
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all our members for your support as I undertake my role as the new PSBAA President. As our outgoing President has said, the future is filled with opportunity, and I am excited to explore all the ways our Association can continue championing public school education.
I know the PSBAA already has some amazing opportunities coming up for our member boards.
At the Fall Conference and AGM, trustees learned how to access the Association’s Professional Development Module Program. The program presents members with vital professional learning and a chance to deepen their understanding of trusteeship.
Additionally, to help new trustees feel confident in their role as an education decision-maker and advocate, the Association is offering orientation webinars on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in January and February 2026. I encourage members to attend these.
The PSBAA also has its upcoming Public School Boards’ Council meeting on Feb. 5-6, 2026.
Now, I must express how thankful I am to be in this position. I will do my very best to continue invigorating the spirit of this organization—ensuring I promote, elevate and protect public school education. In my capacity as President, I understand I do not speak for myself, but for many public school boards across the province.
In this sense, I am taking my first footsteps on a path that we all walk together. Without your input, your passion and your dedication, the PSBAA would not be the same. And without you as a trustee, your community and our province would not be the same.
I look forward to connecting with you soon. For now, have a very Merry Christmas, a splendid holiday and a beautiful New Year.
