Holiday wishes from PSBAA’s new President
It’s been a very busy year, and it’s hard to believe we are now in the last two weeks of 2021.
As the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta’s (PSBAA’s) new President, I am pleased to welcome all the new and returning public school board trustees who were elected or re-elected in the October 2021 municipal and school board elections.
Thank you to all those who ran for public school board trustee but were not elected. I know the work that goes into running for public office, and I appreciate your efforts. Democracy is well-served because of you and your dedication to your community.
At our 2021 Fall Conference and AGM last month in Edmonton, PSBAA member school boards elected new representatives to our Board of Directors. I was honoured to be elected as the new President, serving for a two-year term. You can view our list of new and returning board directors and their roles, here.
To everyone who attended, either in person or online, thank you for taking the time to join us and to invest in your education and in your community.
Early in 2022, the board will meet to discuss the Association’s strategic priorities for the next two years. We have received great feedback from our members this fall, and we intend to incorporate that feedback into our strategic direction and workplan. This is your Association, and we are fully committed to ensuring we are a valuable resource for you. We welcome your input at any time. Please email Executive Director and CEO Troy Tait at executivedirector@public-schools.ab.ca or call us at 780-479-8080.
To you and yours, I wish you all the very best for the holiday season, and health and happiness in 2022.
Dennis MacNeil
