He has a unique journey to share that will inspire audiences to reach for their dreams and never give up and also help them find creative ways to make this world a better place.

'The Push and Pull of Technology: Understanding the Impact of the Internet, Social Media, AI and other Digital Media on our Children'

Jason S. Daniels, Ph.D., is an affiliate of the Community-University Partnership for the study of Children, Youth, and Families at the University of Alberta and is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Concordia University of Edmonton.

Dr. Daniels has a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Alberta and has extensive experience teaching courses related to the development of children and educational psychology. His research examines the factors that impact decisions about and uses of digital media and how exposure to and immersion in digital media affects the development and learning of children.

Annalee Nutter - Superintendent - Fort McMurray Public Schools

Ms. Nutter, who has been with the Division for almost 22 years and began her position as Superintendent and began in this position in January 2023.

Ms. Nutter attended Minot State University in North Dakota where she completed her Bachelors in Education with a double major in Speech Pathology and K-8 Teaching. She completed her Masters in Education through the University of Prince Edward Island.

She joined FMPSD in 2002 to teach a combined class of grades one and two at Greely Road School. She has been a Learning Assistance Coordinator, a Vice Principal, and helped open Walter and Gladys Hill Public School (WGH) as Principal in 2014, a position she held for five years. Prior to starting as Acting Superintendent, she was the Associate Superintendent, Education & Administration for three years.

Clarice Anderson is a proud member of Saddle Lake Cree Nation. She holds a Master’s degree in Land Based Education and has worked in the field of education for 19 years in various capacities. Clarice is passionate and committed to building capacity in Indigenous education. She currently works with Edmonton Public Schools as a Supervisor in Curriculum and Learning Supports.

Sheila Williams is a Denesuline woman, mother and educator originally from Cold Lake First Nations, Treaty 6 Territory. She is a First Nations, Métis and Inuit consultant with EPSB and has been a teacher with EPSB for 13 years. Sheila has also been with the Alberta Teachers Association as a Professional Development facilitator for 8 years. Sheila has reclaimed her connection to her roots through ceremony and community.

Tim Stensland Ed.D. - Former Deputy Superintendent for Northland School Division

'Being Coherent with your Priorities: From Formulation to Implementation'

Tim Stensland, earned his way to becoming a Vice-Principal, a Principal and then a Recruitment and Staffing Consultant with Calgary Board of Education (CBE).

Those life experiences helped him land a Senior Manager position with Alberta Education. While working as a Senior Manager with Alberta Education, Tim supported NSD through many programs such as the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Community Based Teacher Education Program, the Northland Teacher Induction Program, Supporting Beginning Teachers Program and the Northern Student Teacher Bursary.

When he returned to NSD as an Associate Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Stensland played an important role in rolling out a Vision for Technology, Teaching, Learning and Leading in NSD. The vision continues to help NSD leverage the benefits of technology to support the student learning experience. It also contributed to the creation of Northland Online School.

Tim is an excellent example of lifelong learning. He completed a Master in Education (M.Ed.) from Gonzaga University, completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) course work from the U of C and University of Phoenix, senior manager development program with Alberta Education/University of Alberta and an Education Doctorate from the U of C.
